Dental Hygiene
We evaluate the condition of your gums, teeth and mouth to help prevent oral diseases
Prevention is our Superpower
Far too often, people dismiss “teeth cleaning” as a trivial aspect of their dental care. Ironically, this seemingly overlooked practice holds the key to safeguarding your oral and overall well-being.
Periodontal Disease – a Silent Threat
Hidden within the jawbone, periodontal disease quietly wreaks havoc and stands as a primary culprit behind adult tooth loss. Its insidious early and moderate stages may lack pain, but they cast a shadow over your general health. The link lies in inflammation, releasing a potent protein known as “C-REACTIVE PROTEIN.” This protein’s impact on health is staggering:
– C-reactive protein proves a more telling predictor of heart disease than cholesterol levels, actively contributing to its development.
– Fatal heart disease risk doubles for those with severe gum and bone disease.
– Type 2 diabetes sufferers face a threefold increase in the likelihood of developing gum disease.
– Advanced gum and bone disease elevate the risk of stroke in adults aged 25-54 by over 50%.
– Early onset of periodontal disease heightens the likelihood of Alzheimer’s disease by fourfold.
– Pregnant women grappling with severe gum and bone disease are seven times more prone to premature births and low birth weight.
