Dr. Leonie Clark

Dentist ~ B.D.S

I never thought when I started studying dentistry over 30 years ago, what a challenging and enjoyable career I had chosen. I love the challenges that new technology brings and I am very proud that I have been able to develop many of my young staff into capable dental professionals.

I enjoy mentoring and training and particularly love the advantages that technology brings. Being able to finally replace teeth in a more biocompatible way and “put back” the tooth that has been lost makes my dental day.

Talking to people and helping them achieve their dental health goals makes this job even more worthwhile!

Dr Ashleigh Jordan

My journey at Leura Smilemakers began in 2012 when I joined as a dental assistant. My experience in this time led me to pursue Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney. Now, as a dentist at Leura Smilemakers, I can merge my unique prior experience with academic training to provide a comprehensive approach to dental care.

My focus is first and foremost on patient care, I aim to ensure patients feel informed and comfortable in making decisions on their oral health. I am eager to continue my own professional development, emphasising quality of service and fostering healthy smiles

Dr. John Mader

Dr John Mader, who has been a part of the Smilemakers team for over 10 years.
John has over years’ 20 years experience in a variety of dental practices throughout his career, which include the Aboriginal Medical Service and private practices in the Sydney CBD and regional NSW.

John strives to continue his education by regularly attending courses with the latest advances in dental technology and scientific research. Johns’ most recent accomplishment is completing the Surgical Program at the Brenner Implant Institute. Johns’ considered approach towards treatment ensures that patients feel well informed, understood and at ease whilst in treatment.

Outside of the practice John is a sports enthusiast. He enjoys cycling, rock climbing and hiking.

For this reason our practice has a welcoming home-like atmosphere with lots of natural light and garden views from most rooms. Our practice is very close to the central shops, restaurants and markets, but we are located just off of the High Street, nestled within a beautiful, established house and gardens. Music in all treatment rooms
We listen to music while treating our patients and, if the appointment is a long one due to the complexity of the treatment, we encourage our patients to bring a CD with them of their favourite or most relaxing music. We also have a large collection of music available in-house.
Nitrous oxide
(Happy gas) is available for those patients that require it however it does need to be pre-booked. Our staff will discuss any anxieties with the patient and how best to alleviate them and formulate a treatment plan to make it easier for the patient to cope.
Heated neck pillows
To alleviate neck tension we can
provide heated neck pillows
for patient comfort.

Our services include the following: white fillings, extractions, children’s dentistry, preventative dentistry, ceramic fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures (both full and partial), mouthguards, nightguards, bite treatment, tooth bonding, ceramic fillings (cerec), non-surgical gum treatment, tooth whitening (both in surgery and at home), oral hygiene instruction, tooth cleaning, caries management, and immediate replacement of teeth.
